BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The study aims to use the opinions of experts to analyze the factors involved in the financial empowerment of hotels in crises, with an emphasis on the prevalence of COVID-19 in five-star hotels.METHODS: The population consists of administrative and managers, and the sample size consisted of 384 members of the studied hotels. The questionnaire was sent to the sample members via social media, or they answered the online questionnaire. Smart PLS software was used to analyze the raw data and the research model was designed using structural equation modeling.FINDING: According to the main hypothesis, controlling coronary disease will improve the financial condition of hotels, and this hypothesis was confirmed with a coefficient of β: 0.781. As sub-hypotheses of factors of creating consistent use, consistent use change, reducing unnecessary costs, maintaining customer relationship and marketing in proportion to the coefficients of β:0.594, 0.506, 0.591, 0.623, 0.523 were confirmed as effective factors in financial empowerment. On the other hand, restricting businesses, reducing unnecessary traffic, and emphasizing social distance with coefficients of β: 0.498, 0.522, 0.618 were approved as effective factors in disease control. CONCLUSION: Because the specific time for the end of the Coronavirus epidemic is not known; therefore, closure is not a good solution to overcome the virus in the hotel industry. Adapting the business to the new conditions can be a good way to financially empower the hotel industry. On the other hand, observing the factors discussed in disease control in the present study can cause disease control; since disease control is ultimately directly related to the hotel's financial empowerment. Finally, it should be said that the most important achievement of the present study is to present a financial crisis management approach during its occurrence.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Historical reports show that COVID-19 pandemic has been confirmed over 213 nations or territories which accelerates the livelihoods. It also hampers the livelihoods of urban peoples mainly poor slum dwellers in developing countries like Bangladesh. The purpose of this article is to assess the vulnerability of urban slum dwellers based on five livelihood capitals during COVID-19.METHODS: Rajshahi City Corporation area is purposively selected which is grouped into three zones (central, interim and peripheral) based on the distance from the central business district, Shaheb Bazar. The study is conducted with a semi-structured and self-developed questionnaire to fulfill its objective. The questionnaires are focused on predetermined 48 indicators of five livelihood capitals (human, social, physical, natural and financial). Total 361 slum households (9%) are selected from 4010 households at 95% significance level which are proportionately distributed in 12 slum areas and household heads are nominated through simple random samplings. Data are coded, edited and inserted carefully; standardized and livelihood capital index are calculated with SPSS and map is produced with ArcGIS 10.4.FINDINGS: Study reveals that about 47.8% (central), 57.5% (interim) and 45.1% (peripheral) slum dwellers are illiterate and live in a miserable condition. Human capital index is found higher in central slums (0.435) than peripheral (0.406) and interim (0.387). The social capital index is revealed as similar of human capital index. But physical capital index claims the trend as central (0.776)> interim (0.646)> peripheral (0.536). Again, financial capital index of the central slum dwellers is higher as they receive help during pandemic and get earning opportunity and these slum areas are located near the central business district. In addition, natural capital index is totally different and peripheral slum dwellers are in better position (0.635) than interim (0.549) and central (0.358) slums. Finally, the study concludes that mean livelihood capital index of central (0.4334) slum dwellers are better than interim (0.4216) and peripheral (0.4222) slums which assesses all the study slums as moderate.CONCLUSION: The study suggests that financial improvement is becoming an ultimate need for slum dwellers since the financial capital index reveals as poor among all the slum areas. Moreover, individual or community-based strategies, international collaborations, government and non-governmental organizations need to come forward to improve not only the financial capital but also other four capitals in all slum areas to build a sustainable livelihood as majority of them live below the standard livelihoods.

Urban management in any context has a different economic, social and political structure, which is in harmony with the existing models of organization. In spite of these differences, in order to reach a sustainable urban development, several different conferences should be referred to. In the “Brundtland Commission 1987” about urban sustainable development these definitions have been given: “preservation and promotion of the quality level of city life. This consists of ecology, culture, politics, economies, and social participation. However, this development should in no case weigh on and create any problems for the future generations”. In all the definitions of urban management and urban sustainable development and in any political context citizens’ participation in decision making and insistence on social justice are mentioned. The aim of this article is a descriptive, analytic, and comparative study of different models of popular participation in different developed countries. Each of these countries has different social and political structure. However they all have the same aim which is the citizens’ empowerment. To reach the ideal urban management model it is necessary to have a clear image of the place and participation of citizens in order to create a socially, economically and politically sustainable developed society.

As a communication link between suburban and urban roads, terminals prevent buses from entering the cities, thus, they play an important role in improving traffic flow, reducing urban environmental pollution. Clearly, proximity of te rminals to cities will bring about environmental pollution in different forms (soil, water, air and wastewater). The current study tries to investigate the environmental management solutions for Tehran West Terminal. For this purpose, all the environmental aspects of bus terminals, including air, water, soil and traffic were investigated. Then, with respect to the primary assessments, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed among drivers and terminal staff. According to the obtained results, a SWOT matrix was designed and implemented after completing the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The results of soil sampling showed that pollutants like heavy metals and volatile organic matters (Benzene and Toluene) were above the standards set by the Iran Department of the Environment. In terms of air pollutants, all the gases and particles were above the standards set forth by Iran Department of the Environment. According to SWOT analysis, the aggressive scenario strategies obtained the highest scores. They included periodic trainings for the managers, drivers and other terminal staff (5.31), constant monitoring by Iran Department of the Environment (4.72), establishing internal environmental regulations (4.44), forbidding unauthorized car repairs especially oil Chang outside the repair shops (3.93), and supervision of cooperative managers on controlling vehicles and their drivers (3.73), were selected as superior strategies, respectively.

With the modern development and increasing competitiveness of air transport business processes, the management of knowledge is essential most especially for air transport managers. This controls compounded phases of the organization which begins with the fabrication of organisational strategy towards value creation and improving customers` experience. This study was to explore the review on the impact of knowledge management in the Nigerian air transport sector. Knowledge management is the extent to which improved business performance is realizable. The empirical reveals that the importance of knowledge management in the air transport sector is driven by the increasing level of technological change; the changing dynamics of market forces; complex nature, and expansion of air transport sector; information technology which enhances the collection, analysing, recording and transfer or sharing of information, data or facts within the organisation; and the achievement of competitive advantage through cost and schedule leadership. In the situation whereby an organization does not embark on knowledge management practice, and they planned to expand the scope or dimension of the organization, the expansion will be the sinking sand and the hole where the organization will bury all the knowledge resources and organization will be rendered bankrupt.

In describing the behavior of employees, classified organizational citizenship behavior is applied and has been named as a "good member". In the working climate, the substance of building organizational citizenship behavior could not distinguish from the existing commitment within employees. The challenges and contribution of organizational citizenship behavior are to be a driving force in the foundation of effectiveness of hospitality industry. To throw an upright citizen in organizations, the industry should puzzle out if not the industry cannot live without paying an act as an “honest citizen”. A true contribution of employees should understand the organizational citizenship behavior while not everybody can express it. Supervisors in the hospitality industry will reward with high ratings if employees demonstrate high organizational citizenship behavior, but employees who are express low level of organizational citizenship behavior can justify that the particular industry need to direct the importance of extra-role behavior in organizations. Thusly, the criticism of this topic is to identify the problem and challenges confronted by employees in the hospitality industry. In this industry, organizational citizenship behavior is a key predictor in reducing all barriers to guarantee the effectiveness of the organization can be achieved. However, the rationale of this review paper to define the challenges and contributions that can earn by the hospitality management in improving the staff functioning, reducing turnover intention and increase the staff satisfaction.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Lack of paying attention of contemporary architecture and urban planning to the environment and adaptation to the climate of the region has caused many environmental problems. To solve a part of the problem, the present paper was conducted to achieve the proportions governing the exterior skin of open spaces of urban districts that have unique characteristics to adapt to the climate of their region, since about 2/3 of Iran is covered by arid climate, it was examined. The old texture of Yazd is one of the best architectural models compatible with arid climate of Iran, which its teachings can give suitable guidelines for contemporary architecture and urban planning. In this regard, three districts from the historical texture of Yazd were selected as research samples.METHODS: This research is of applied in terms of aim and its methodology is descriptive-analytical conducted by library method and field survey. The method of research and data analysis is a combination of quantitative and quantitative, in which the geometric properties of 143 plots were studied first and then, by comparing and analyzing the results, the fit was obtained.FINDINGS: The results showed that the average height of the exterior skin in the squares was more than that in the passages and entrances; this ratio is 1.22 for the entrances and 1.35 for the passages. The average width of the exterior skin is greater in the squares, followed by the passages and entrances, respectively, with ratios of about 2.3 and 12, respectively. The ratio of height to exterior skin width is 1 to 5.7 in the squares and 1 to 39 in passages, exterior skin width is about 6 times in the squares and 39 times in passages. These proportions are a sign of the influence of the region's climate, the generalization of which in similar climates will increase the harmony with the climate.CONCLUSION: Results suggest the existence of proportions and relations in the exterior skin that are affected by the climatic characteristics of the arid region of Iran and can be managed in the open spaces of urban districts.

Heavy metal pollutionis one of the largest problems in the Environment and human being. In industrial and urban areas trees can give better quantifications for pollutant concentrations and atmospheric deposition than non-biological samples. In order to know ability of Fraxinus excelsior (Ash tree) to reduce the concentrations of heavy metals and compared with the concentration of these pollutants in falling dust urban green belt. The results showed that the concentration of Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Lead, and Cadmium in falling dust respectively were the highest to the lowest. The distance from the highway in the concentration of pollutants in leaves and bark of the Ash tree showed significant results. Also, the effect of pollutant in the leaf of this plant was higher than that of bark, except for Cobalt. Concentrations of Zinc, Cobalt, and Nickel, increased with increasing distance from the road due to multi-directional winds and the presence of other contaminants. The Pearson correlation analysis between heavy metals found in the falling dust and Ash tree showed that the input and controlling factors of these elements in the Ash tree are probably the same as the dust. The results showed that the Fraxinus excelsior leaf with the amount of accumulation index of 1607 mg/kg has more ability to simultaneously absorb different metals. As a result, since this green belt surrounds Yazd urban area, it is hoped that a significant amount of heavy metals will be absorbed by these trees.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Cities are the main energy consumers; they can be a critical solution to threats to energy resources, the environment, and climate change. Knowing the effective indicators in urban planning and design in the energy field is one of the priorities of urban planners and designers. In this regard, Current research in the first step has tried to define a conceptual framework of urban system indicators influential to energy planning in cities. And in the second step, since climatic characteristics could be as fundamental factors in urban energy planning, the relationship between climatic indicators and urban energy planning indicators has been identified.METHODS: This study is basic research in terms of purpose and presents a new conceptual framework for the urban energy system. It also aimed to analyses the relationship between the urban energy system indicators and local climate indicators. Its methodology is descriptive-analytical, conducted by library method and survey. Data analysis was done through a combination of quantitative and quantitative methods and descriptive statistical analysis. To do the survey questionnaire and interview experts in the energy field in different countries by using the Delphi method has been done.FINDINGS: The urban energy system conceptual framework was identified, and it has been divided into seven sub-systems (physical, land use, infrastructure, and transportation, movement/accessibility, cultural and technological), 15 components, and 61 indicators. Also, by analyzing the relationship between urban energy and climate indicators, “Air temperature” is the most related climate indicator from the experts’ view with 682 total scores, followed by “Solar radiation and sunny days”, “greenery” and “wind” indicators respectively with the sum points of 624, 596 and 594 scores in the seven defined urban energy system indicators.CONCLUSION: A theoretical framework of urban energy systems has been defined based on previous studies and experts' ideas in a comprehensive framework. And by analyzing the relationship between the defined urban energy system and climate indicators, the important indicators were recognized in each group. That could be academic knowledge and a practical source for future urban plans. For future studies, the institutional and economic dimensions of urban energy systems have to be conducted to complete the theoretical framework.

BACKGROUNS AND OBJECTIVES: As an integral component of urban space, green space assumes a pivotal role in the purification and filtration of air, provision of recreational opportunities, and augmentation of the aesthetic allure of the urban landscape. In contemporary urban settings, the significance of urban green spaces is widely acknowledged and embraced as an indispensable facet of the city. The consequences of urban expansion and the resulting environmental problems have indefinitely made the presence of green spaces and their proper distribution essential. Meanwhile, it is necessary to pay attention to achieving spatial balance in the distribution of urban parks, as they are an important component of urban green spaces, particularly in large cities. The population in Karaj city in Iran, has experienced an excessive increase, particularly in the last three decades. This has resulted in the rapid expansion of urban areas the destruction of the natural landscape and the structural pattern of both natural and artificial ecosystems. The city of Karaj, formerly known as Baghshahr, has transformed into a metropolis, with only a few traces of its once abundant urban green spaces remaining. This research aims to evaluate the demand for green space and the distribution capacity among the districts of 3 and 8 of Karaj city. The objective of the current study is to provide solutions based on spatial justice to increase the use of green space.METHODS: The current research utilizes a combination of descriptive-analytical and critical methods, as well as documentary and survey methods. To analyze and evaluate the condition of green spaces and their mapping, information, and data from relevant organizations and satellite images have been utilized within specific spatial-temporal scales and GIS software. Results: The results showed that the highest weight obtained was related to participation, with a weight of 0.118. This was followed by social capital, with a weight of 0.116 percent. The lowest weight was related to public services, with a weight of 0.040.CONCLUSION: District 3 has more green space than District 8 due to the presence of gardens and trees planted by the municipality on the outskirts of the district. Additionally, the political ecology in these neighborhoods has not been impacted by District 3. However, Jahanshahr and Molana neighborhoods in District 8 have a high per capita population due to their small population and large areas of parks. Additionally, the presence of Family, fruit, Fateh and small Iran Gardens, contribute to the high population density in these neighborhoods. However other areas in the district experience a significant shortage of urban green spaces and are affected by the influence of political ecology at both the neighborhood and regional levels.

The essence of low carbon economy development is a continuous evolution and innovation process of socio-economic system from traditional high carbon economy to new sustainable green low carbon economy to achieve a sustainable dynamic balance and benign interactive development of various elements between society, economy and natural ecosystem. At the current stage, China’s socio-economy is showing the feature of "three high" (high energy consumption, high emissions and high pollution). In this case, quickly to promote the development of green low carbon economy is necessary and urgent. This research indicates that, low carbon economy development is achieved by micro-economic agents such as households, businesses and social intermediary organizations through Government’s guidance and the role of market mechanism. In low carbon economy development, the state (government) is a leader and markets are core, while economic agents (e.g., households, businesses and social intermediary organizations) are basis. For this reason, it is necessary to build an effective cleaner development and incentive-compatible policy system oriented to end-users.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: One of the issues that have been evident in previous researches on urban poverty is the existence of a methodological gap in identifying spatial representation of urban poverty. This paper suggests a methodology for identifying the spatial representation of urban poverty and applies it to Isfahan Metropolis in Iran. METHODS:A hybrid model of exploratory factor analysis and analytical network process was used with urban poverty indicators. Using the model, the compiled database consisted of 27 indicators with 12196 specific data per indicator was analyzed to determine the domains of urban poverty and relational importance coefficient of each indicator. A composite index of urban poverty was then constructed to evaluate urban poverty in each urban block. Also, the autocorrelation test and cluster and outlier analysis were used to find the spatial distribution pattern and concentrations of urban poverty in the metropolis. FINDING: Seven domains of urban poverty in Isfahan metropolis were extracted which cumulatively explain about 57.3 percent of the data variance including “general poverty (13.25%), crowdedness in the housing unit (10.09%), economic poverty (9.462%), intrinsic poverty (8.23%), infrastructure poverty (6.243%), migrant’s poverty (5.276%) and unhealthy living condition (4.173%). Classifying urban blocks based on the composite index has shown that 9.8% of the population and 15.7% of urban blocks had the highest poverty rate. The autocorrelation test (Moran’s index=0.459; p-value=0.000) has indicated that urban poverty was clustered. Using Cluster and outlier analysis, it was determined that 70% of urban poverty concentrations were located in suburbs and peripheral districts. CONCLUSION: Urban policymakers can adopt relevant policies in relation to various types of urban poverty identified in metropolises and determine policy priorities based on the weight calculated for each indicator. They can also suggest policies at the macro-micro levels using the urban poverty distribution pattern and concentration map.

Recently, literature around the theme of collaborative management research has grown considerably. According to the definition of collaborative management research, two components are connected to each other in this context; managers of organizations and academic researchers. In literature, many authors claim that the relationship between these two components could lead to significant advantages for both of them. On the one hand, managers can learn more about new methods of handling complex systems, and on the other hand, researchers can have a chance to recognize new theories and develop their knowledge through this collaboration. Some authors argue that collaborative research not only leads to an increase in knowledge production, but also encourages knowledge sharing among the participating researchers. Therefore, knowledge production is an important issue in collaborative management research. In literature, many authors claim that the quality of knowledge production through collaborative research is higher than in non-collaborative cases. With the view of making collaborative management research more valuable, knowledge production could play an important role in three issues related to enriching collaborative management research; namely rigor, reflection and relevance. The issue of knowledge production has been a controversial and much disputed subject within the field of collaborative management research. In this paper, some studies are reviewed in order to find out the effect of collaborative management research on knowledge production. Moreover, the pattern of collaboration in knowledge production is also discussed.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Entrepreneurship has become mandatory for different societies because not only does entrepreneurship make it possible for individuals to access the financial resources generated by the idea but it also facilitates the development of a country by solving problems in a new way. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to explore and determine the relationship between entrepreneurial skills on job performance of managers and deputies working in the municipalities of Hormozgan province located in the south of Iran. METHODS: The present study is a descriptive-practical correlation in terms of how data was collected. The collected data were based on the quantitative research method used to measure job performance by means of the Standard 15 Questionnaire. For evaluating the entrepreneurship skills, the 20 researcher-made questionnaire with 20 statements was used based on the research literature. The statistical population of the study consisted of 350 managers and deputy mayors of Hormozgan province. By applying the Cochran's formula, 182 people were selected as the statistical sample. Data analysis was performed by means of SmartPLS3 software. FINDINGS:The results of the research indicate positive relationships among entrepreneurial (3.695), managerial (5.680) and technical (7.369) skills concerning job performance. Therefore, these hypotheses were confirmed and, on the contrary, the hypothesis related to the relationship between personal skills and job performance (1.774) was rejected. CONCLUSION: According to the findings, the development of the relationship between entrepreneurial skills on job performance of managers and deputy mayors of Hormozgan province improves the competitive performance of organizations.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Rapid technological advances, widespread globalization advances, and the strong desire of people to change their career paths make the question of job and career path selection and decision making, and future predictions important today. Future work self is a new concept in the career path process that originates from the postmodern approach that has entered in the field of management in the last ten years and organizations that guide and manage individual career paths need to understand the factors that influence career path design. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of designing and explaining models of factors that influence the design of career paths by the postmodern approach.METHOD: This study is a mixed method (qualitative-quantitative) in terms of development goal. First, library methods, scientific texts and related articles, and internal and external research on the topic were reviewed, followed by qualitative interviews with the participation of 15 professors, experts and the middle management of Municipality of Tehran in the field of human resource management, psychology, career counseling and, which were selected by purposive sampling method, was performed. The data of this stage were collected with the help of semi-structured interviews and analyzed by the Thematic analysis method. The statistical population of the quantitative section included experts of human resources of the Municipality of Tehran, who were familiar with the subject of research, from which 94 people were selected by simple random method. The data of this stage were collected with the help of a questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modeling.RESULTS: At the individual level, 38 keywords in the form of 9 Sub-themes and 3 Main-themes, which were: self-concept, job concern, personality, and at the environmental level, 46 keywords, in the form of 16 Sub-themes, and 6 Main-themes, which were: key personalities, family circumstances, educational conditions, community conditions, media and technology and political conditions were extracted from the interviews. Findings from double confirmatory factor analysis showed that the factor numbers are all greater than 0.4 and the significance of the relationship between indices, components and constituent dimensions has been confirmed and all items had a t-statistic greater than 1.96, so none of the items were removed from the model and in total, all coefficients were significant at the 95% level. And the study of model fit indices and the result of 0.573 showed a strong fit of the model.CONCLUSION: According to the results of this study, individual factors (self-concept, job concern and personality) and environmental factors (key personalities, family conditions, educational conditions, community conditions, media and technology and political conditions) that affect the formation of career path were identified and the effect of these factors was determined through the model.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Today, human resources play a key role in the success of organizations and leading organizations have creative, motivated and capable employees. In addition to the characteristics of the employees, the measures and practices related to strategic human resources management planned and implemented by organizations are effective mechanisms to attract employees who believe in their abilities and create energy and motivation in the Khuzestan Regional Water Organization, like any other organization. Also, it requires the deployment of the strategic human resources management capacity and its subsystems to improve the perceived organizational fairness of employees in order to improve work behavior and employee satisfaction, which the present study has dedicated to this important topic. The aim of the study is therefore to examine the relationship between performance appraisal measures and employee satisfaction and to investigate the mediating role of procedural and distributive justice in the relationship. METHODS: The research population were employees of the Khuzestan Regional Water Organization. The sample size was selected based on Morgan's table as 297 people. Data were collected using simple random sampling method. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS25 and AMOS24 software.FINDINGS: Based on the quantitative data analysis, the results of testing the research hypotheses show that financial measures are significantly related to procedural fairness (C.R.= 6.009) and distributive fairness (C.R.= 5.748), non-financial measures are significantly related to procedural fairness (C.R. = 3.643) and Distributive Justice (C.R.= 5.196). Financial metrics have a significant correlation with employee satisfaction (C.R.= 4,080), non-financial metrics have a significant correlation with employee satisfaction (C.R.= 2,569). Procedural fairness has a significant association with employee satisfaction (C.R.= 2.786), distributive fairness has a significant association with employee satisfaction (C.R.= 2.084). Procedural and distributive justice play a partially mediating role in the relationship between financial and non-financial measures and employee satisfaction.CONCLUSION: The results showed that the use of the comprehensive performance evaluation system is effective on organizational justice and the result will lead to the improvement of the job satisfaction of the employees and the results of this research can be used and generalized in governmental organizations and public non-governmental organizations that have almost the same organizational structure. The use of non-financial measures is suggested to evaluate employee performance, in addition to using traditional financial objective measures to evaluate performance.
