Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict change detection areas in Davidson County, Tennessee. The land cover/land use categories were classified using maximum likelihood algorithm and post classification comparison change detection analysis was performed. Classified image differencing technique was also used to predict change detection areas in Geographic Information System. The land cover/land use categories were successfully classified with a kappa value of about 78%. The land cover/land use classes changed significantly from 1977 to 2016 in Davidson County, Tennessee. Wetlands and bare land had a net decrease on average of about 97% between 1977 and 2016 whereas; developed areas and forest had a net increase on average of around 40% between 1977 and 2016. Urbanization appeared to be one of the main drivers of the change in land cover/land use. This information could be used in land management and planning by environmental managers, policy makers and other stakeholders.

Quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation of risk management programs will play an important role in the development of Tehran metropolitan railway transport. Considering the tectonic studies, seismic zones, land degradation and faults in north and south of Tehran, the development of underground railway lines, the assessment of the vulnerability of subway stations and the escalation of the crisis with the destruction of urban exhausted earthquakes is very important with the occurrence of earthquake and flood. This study, focusing on the issue of risk assessment and vulnerability of the development of the rail transport network and the approach to physical and aerospace hazard monitoring of metro stations. For this purpose, three selected metro stations in Tehran were studied. In the research, a combined method based on library studies, review of records and records, Delphi technique, AHP method, and overlaying of layers have been used. The results of the vulnerability assessment indicate that each of Tajirish, Nawab and Darvazeh Shemiran, with a risk number of 5.10, 5.76, and 5.79, are in the risk limit range, respectively. In fact, all stations need to adopt smart measures and management and executive solutions to reduce potential damage.

Climate displaced persons generally follow the same trails as other migrants, but climate-induced displacement is adding to the pace and scale of human mobility. The prime aim of the study was to investigate the rural to urban migration of climate induced displacement in coastal area of Bangladesh addressing to risks and opportunities. The study mainly based on primary data and secondary data was used for validation. The study reveals that after displacement nearly 89% displaced people migrated from rural (Kutubdia Island) to Cox’s Bazar urban area. Consequently, meantime their monthly income, occupational status, housing and sanitation condition, source of drinking water and health care facilities were changed positively but in most cases they are dissatisfied. Because they lost their traditional and indigenous occupations system and their housing pattern and conditions become worsen. Availability of water and sanitation facility and healthcare seeking behavior changed positively in the urban area. Finally, the study revealed that there is risk and opportunity for climate displaced people in urban migration. However, planned/fair migration of climate displaced people can reduce the risk factors in the urban setting.

Modeling of solid waste collection and transportation in metropolitan areas using WAGS model: implication of CO2 emission and external costs

Annually more than 80% of the overall budget of the uran solid waste management system in Iran is allotted to collection and transportation of the solid wastes. The main objective of the current study is to evaluate the external costs associated with solid waste collection, transfer, and transportation in Tehran for the period of 2018 to 2032 based on the current situation. Waste guidance system as well as Energy and Environment software were applied to anticipate the external costs. Results of the present study indicated that more than 535 million US dollars would be required during the next 15 years in the solid waste collection, transfer, and transportation sector to supply necessary machinery, manpower, fuel, maintenance and other relevant expenses. The principal fraction of the required budget (i.e. 48.99%) should be allocated to provide collection and transportation equipment costs. Manpower, fuel, maintenance, and miscellaneous expenses require 30.34, 7.37, 12.78 and 0.5 percent, respectively of the overall expenses in the solid waste collection, transfer, and transportation sector. In the context of global warming impact, more than 970 million tons of carbon dioxide will be anticipated to be emitted by solid waste collection, transfer, and transportation sector in Tehran during the studied period imposing 23.1 million US dollars to compensate its external effects.

The current research is trying to identify the effective modules (system modules) that form the integrated e-learning dashboard for educational processes and learning opportunities based on ISO 29990 in the municipality of Tehran. The educational process management system, which is currently providing classroom training services, is able to improve the situation by incorporating integrated management systems for human resources development processes. Based on the conceptual model, the construction of the four main factors, the process of management system, the learning management system, evaluation and effectiveness system, the employee competence development system are marked as the factors that included in the electronic management dashboard of learning processes are in interaction with their constructive components, which, according to the problem and research questions, they were tested in terms of factor load and their effect on each other after defining the variables in the software and recording data using factor analysis and multiple regression at a meaningful level. The most influential factors with the 0.875 was the Process Management System, and other factors with the difference in impact levels being prioritized in the next rankings. Also, the fit of the whole model was calculated based on the relevant index along with the validity of the research structure and the result were positively evaluated.

Abstract<br /> Justice has always been a controversial issue and it is difficult to agree on its definition and dimensions. According to some experts, in order to establish justice a criterion should be defined for each blessing, gift or each area and transportation can be considered as one of these areas. In this study, in order to investigate the justice status in the distribution of urban transportation services, five criteria of equal opportunity, difference, need, participation in public interest and entitlement were determined as the criterion for the subsequent investigations. The use of these criteria was based on different views and perspectives, and in addition, a number of them have been used in other studies. The numerical taxonomy was used to assess the status of Tehran metropolitan areas in terms of relative level of transportation development. The main objective of this study was to find out the extent to which the urban transportation services were equally distributed at the metropolitan level in Tehran. Comparison and investigation of justice among Tehran's metropolitan areas also indicated that on the one hand, there are significant inequalities among the sectors in terms of space and, on the other hand, the distribution of the part of facilities examined in this study is not in favor of the deprived areas and benefits the advantaged regions. Finally, in the conclusion section , the implications of this situation were addressed and the strategies that can be taken into account in this regard were taken into consideration.

Tehran Municipality has had two five-year plans so far and the third one is being formulated these days. However, investigating the sector relating to the human resources shows that there is a gap between present condition and the optimal situation in several domains. This article is an attempt to investigate the five-year plans in the domain of human resources via a practical model of forecasting and retrospection analysis. It is an applied research, in which the necessary data is gathered through interview, documents and library information from formal resources. The results indicate that what is happening currently based on the policies is not optimal at all. Moreover, through explaining the normative and acceptable future, some advices are provided in order to eliminate gaps and strengthen policies along with enhancing productivity in the human resource domain of Tehran Municipality. These recommendations are about recruitment, training, management and promotion of administrative health and other areas of human resources management.

Heavy metal pollutionis one of the largest problems in the Environment and human being. In industrial and urban areas trees can give better quantifications for pollutant concentrations and atmospheric deposition than non-biological samples. In order to know ability of <em>Fraxinus excelsior</em> (Ash tree) to reduce the concentrations of heavy metals and compared with the concentration of these pollutants in falling dust urban green belt. The results showed that the concentration of Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Lead, and Cadmium in falling dust respectively were the highest to the lowest. The distance from the highway in the concentration of pollutants in leaves and bark of the Ash tree showed significant results. Also, the effect of pollutant in the leaf of this plant was higher than that of bark, except for Cobalt. Concentrations of Zinc, Cobalt, and Nickel, increased with increasing distance from the road due to multi-directional winds and the presence of other contaminants. The Pearson correlation analysis between heavy metals found in the falling dust and Ash tree showed that the input and controlling factors of these elements in the Ash tree are probably the same as the dust. The results showed that the <em>Fraxinus</em> <em>excelsior</em> leaf with the amount of accumulation index of 1607 mg/kg has more ability to simultaneously absorb different metals. As a result, since this green belt surrounds Yazd urban area, it is hoped that a significant amount of heavy metals will be absorbed by these trees.
